Cedar Grove Veterinary Clinic's History

Founded in 1945 by Dr. Clarence Meeusen, Cedar Grove Veterinary Services began as a predominantly large animal practice, with Dr. Meeusen providing veterinary care from his home for many years. Recognizing the changing needs of the community, he built the clinic's first dedicated veterinary facility in 1974, creating the opportunity to expand companion animal services as demand grew.

In 1976, Dr. Ron Hinze joined the practice to help meet the needs of the area's growing dairy and livestock producers. Dr. Mike Demianiuk joined the team in 1981, providing care for both farm and companion animal patients. At that time, companion animal appointments were offered during afternoon hours.

Following Dr. Meeusen's retirement in 1984, Dr. Vic Getson joined the practice, continuing the clinic's commitment to both large and small animal medicine. As the companion animal practice continued to expand, Dr. Robin Baker was welcomed to the team in 1987. With the addition of Drs. Demianiuk, Getson, and Baker, Cedar Grove Veterinary Services transitioned to offering full-time companion animal care while maintaining its strong commitment to food animal medicine.

To accommodate continued growth, Dr. Diane Dommer joined the practice in 2000, allowing the clinic to expand small animal services without compromising the high-quality care provided to dairy and livestock clients. In 2004, Dr. Dana Pionek joined the team as a large animal veterinarian, continuing the tradition of exceptional care established decades earlier.

As the practice continued to grow, the clinic underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2005. These improvements enhanced efficiency and allowed the team to provide an even higher level of service and patient care.

In 2014, Dr. Lindley Reilly joined the large animal team. In addition to serving dairy and livestock producers, she developed a special interest in working with local goat producers, expanding the clinic's services to include comprehensive care for small ruminants.

The clinic experienced several transitions in 2019 with the retirement of Dr. Demianiuk and the addition of Dr. Nicki Schaetzl, who cared for both large and small animal patients.

Like many healthcare providers, Cedar Grove Veterinary Services adapted to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 while continuing to provide uninterrupted care to the community. That same year, Drs. Hinze and Getson retired after many years of dedicated service, and Dr. Collin Wimmler joined the practice as a large animal veterinarian, helping carry forward the clinic's longstanding tradition of excellence.

Following Dr. Schaetzl's departure at the end of 2022, Dr. Reilly expanded her role in July 2023 to include companion animal medicine while continuing to provide large animal care. Today, she continues to serve both patient populations.

The clinic has continued to grow in recent years. In early 2025, Dr. Troy Mord joined the team, bringing expertise in both large and small animal medicine. In June 2026, Cedar Grove Veterinary Services welcomed Dr. Natalie Tetrick following her graduation from veterinary school. Her enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for caring for animals have strengthened the clinic's ability to serve its growing client base.

Today, Cedar Grove Veterinary Services remains committed to the values established by Dr. Meeusen more than 80 years ago. Our veterinarians provide compassionate, high-quality care for companion animals while continuing to support the food animal producers who have been the foundation of our practice since 1945. As our community grows and evolves, we remain dedicated to advancing veterinary medicine while maintaining the personalized service our clients have come to expect.
